Awarded over three years, the grant will support us as we continue to work to help care-
experienced children and young people build stronger, better relationships with the people
around them.
Jenny Young, Director of Blue Cabin, said: “This wonderful support from the Sir James Knott
Trust means so much to us here at Blue Cabin. We’re truly grateful to all our funders and
supporters who believe in our mission to transform outcomes for care-experienced children
and young people.”
The Sir James Knott Trust funds charitable activity in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland,
County Durham and Hartlepool. Sir James Knott, who was born in 1855 in Howdon, was a

Knott Trust has made over 8,500 grants totalling over £27.8million.
Blue Cabin receives core funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, Segelman Trust,
