TeesDance wanted to upskill its team in advance of a project they will be delivering in 2026. Areas of focus include:

• Context of the care system
• Trauma awareness training
• Buddying time for artists from Blue Cabin Associate Artists
• Reflection time to consider what this means for TeesDance as an organisation

• Online training exploring the care system and sharing up-to-date data on children in care in England
• A facilitated reflection session for TeesDance team members
• Buddying sessions with Blue Cabin associate artists to explore trauma informed practice with care experienced children and young people
• Self care sessions facilitated by Blue Cabin’s therapeutic supervisor. Sessions explore trauma theory, self-care challenges, reflective practice, and practical skills to support wellbeing through teaching and guided activities.

Blue Cabin works with other organisations to share learning and strengthen practice in relation to care experienced children and young people. These organisations include local authorities, and cultural and creative organisations.
