Photography Project

A virtual photography project for connected carer families delivered during lockdown 2021.

Funded by UK Youth, Associate Artist, Paul Theo Murray, delivered a remote photography project for young people living in connected carer families, in our partnership with South Tyneside Council. The young people received packs of materials, including cameras, along with three films from the artist, introducing different techniques and themes/ challenges to try at home in their own time. These included:

  • Alternative self-portraits
  • Making a mini-zine
  • Exploring your environment – nature and found objects
  • Cyanotype photography

We are delighted to launch The Photography Project gallery of work! We’ll be adding images over the next few months from the brilliant young photographers. We hope you enjoy it!

Thanks to the wonderful Nicola Golightly for brand design and brilliance, to Paul, for creating a wonderful project (and persevering with tech!) and, of course, to Suzie Devlin at South Tyneside Council.
