Wendy Price

Wendy is Head of Widening Access and Participation at the University of Sunderland. She has over 20 years’ experience of directly supporting care-experienced young people to access and succeed in higher education. In 2016, Wendy launched the award-winning We Care programme which nurtures, develops and supports care-experienced students throughout their life at university.

Wendy is Co-Chair of the National Strategy Group for National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL). In this role Wendy works with national education providers, networks, charities and other organisations to transform the opportunities available to care-experienced young people.

Wendy is also Chair of the Board of Governors at Sunderland Virtual School, which provides personal learning support for care-experienced young people to ensure they received the best education and learning experiences possible.

In her spare time, Wendy enjoys reading, visiting the theatre and exploring new places.
