Camelia Chowdhury Allen

Camelia Chowdhury Allen is a Local Authority social worker specialising in work with children and young people in care, with additional experience supporting care leavers, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, kinship families and adoptive families.

She is passionate about improving outcomes for care-experienced children and believes every child deserves the opportunity to develop a strong sense of identity, belonging and connection. Her practice is grounded in the values of relationships, trust, transparency and helping children develop a strong sense of self.

Alongside her frontline practice, Camelia founded Thread Together, an evidence-informed digital practice tool designed to support practitioners in delivering more consistent, child-centred life story work and preserving important relationships.

Camelia joined Blue Cabin’s Board of Trustees because she believes creativity has a unique ability to build relationships, confidence and emotional resilience. She is excited to support Blue Cabin’s mission of ensuring every care-experienced child has access to high-quality creative opportunities that help them thrive.

Outside work, Camelia enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the countryside with her cockapoo, going to gigs and ice skating.
