Alison is a professional puppeteer and child psychotherapist. Her artistic practice explores therapeutic applications of puppetry and play.
Alison graduated in puppetry from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 1996 and worked as a puppeteer, performer and maker in theatre, film and TV for over 20 years. Alison’s film credits include Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, 2019, and Solo: A Star Wars Story, 2018, for Lucasfilm Ltd; and The Muppets Most Wanted, 2014, for Walt Disney Pictures.
Puppetship CIC is Alison’s puppetry company, co-founded in 2006 to share the joy of all things puppety here in the North East. Puppetship’s shows include In a Nutshell, created for Queen’s Hall, Hexham, and Sparkle, an early years performance which has performed nationally.
Alison also works as a therapist in schools, specialising in the use of puppets in therapy.
