The Rayne Foundation to support Blue Cabin’s work over three years

The Rayne Foundation, which was established in 1962 by Lord Max Rayne, has awarded Blue Cabin a grant of £60,000 over three years, to support its core costs.

The foundation supports charities and organisations across the UK and strengthens connections between them, with the aim of creating positive social change.

The grant will support Blue Cabin’s work, which focuses on improving outcomes for care-experienced people, using the arts and creativity as a tool for change.

Jenny Young, Blue Cabin director, thanked The Rayne Foundation for its support, saying, “We couldn’t continue our work without the support of organisations like The Rayne Foundation, which see the value in what we do.

“Thanks to our funders, children and young people can develop stronger relationships with the adults in their lives, they get to experience high quality, trauma-informed creative activities and they are supported to develop their confidence, wellbeing and love of the arts.”

Lord Max Rayne (1918-2003) was one of the few post-war property developers who helped to rebuild central London after the Blitz. He established the Rayne Foundation in 1962, with a focus on engaging with society’s most pressing needs.

Today, The Rayne Foundation’s areas of focus include care-experienced young people and the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people, as well as creating opportunities for refugees and asylum seekers in the UK; improving the quality of life for older people and their carers in the UK; the development of new, holistic community centres in disadvantaged areas of the UK; and grants for work in Israel for developing and increasing tolerance and understanding between communities and people of different backgrounds.
