Blue Cabin has achieved Silver accreditation from Investors in the Environment, recognising the commitment to positive environmental action that is embedded throughout our organisation.
Over the last year, Blue Cabin’s Environment Working Group has led on the implementation of our Environment and Sustainability Policy, and has put in place plans to reduce waste and emissions.
The Blue Cabin team has also delivered a day of environment-focused creative activities with care-experienced children in Gateshead in partnership with Gateshead Virtual School, helping the children to think about positive action we can take to protect the environment, at the same time as learning new skills and growing in confidence.

Print and Plant was a full day of printmaking activities, specially designed to help participants think about the environment, learn about planting seeds and growing plants, fruits and vegetables, and work alongside professional artists.
Games and hands-on creativity underpinned the day, with the group having the chance to print and make items including seed packets, bunting and flags using a range of print techniques and materials. They also planted seeds into their own handmade newspaper pots, taking them home to germinate.
