Our associate artists range from musicians like Katie, to graphic designers and printmakers, and they are all skilled in using their artistic practice to help improve the lives of care-experienced children and young people.
Here’s Katie talking about her new role.
“I have worked as a musician on Blue Cabin’s This is The Place project alongside associate artist Carol Bowden for 18 months now. We deliver early years music sessions for care-experienced babies and their carers.
“From the very start it was clear that Blue Cabin do things differently, they value the time required to build the positive connections and relationships which make a project really fly. I look forward to my work with them as an organisation and I feel valued as an artist.”
“Blue Cabin is a forward looking organisation, they look for the alternative ways of doing things in order to bring about real change. I am really excited to be part of that journey.
“I hope my Associate Artist role will allow me to continue to grow and develop as an artist and deepen my understanding of trauma-informed work and the power of music as a positive, life enriching force.”
