We are Linda and Katy and we are both enthusiastic about our work at a residential setting for children with learning and physical disabilities. Our role is to nurture and care for the young people who use our service so that they are able to reach their full potential. We love to support our young people to be a part of the wider community and experience events and activities across the North East…and stop for the occasional coffee, cake and burger along the way (and don’t forget the ice-cream!)
I’m Jane; I’m a dark chocolate lover, period drama fan and an arts project manager. I’m sometimes referred to by people as the Arts Award Lady, and I’m very happy indeed to be known as that. I love Arts Award, for all sorts of reasons; one of them is getting to know, and work alongside fantastic Advisers.
A Creative Dialogue: arts and culture, the common third in social pedagogy - we were delighted to be asked to contribute to this event in Northern Ireland in September 2017.
The wonderful Navigator North asked us if we would like to use one of their Empty Shops (in the Cornmill Centre, Darlington), for our Head, Heart, Hands project - we said yes (of course) and then had approx 4 days to fill it!
